FDA Continues Effort To Reduce Undeclared Allergens
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FDA is holding a public meeting August 13, on the
labeling
of food products containing allergens. The purpose of
the
meeting is to help determine what additional
regulatory
actions may be necessary to provide consumers with ade-
quate information on product labels. Comments must be

FDA Is Petitioned to Tighten/Enforce Ingredient Label
Laws

Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) has
petitioned
FDA to tighten regulation and increase enforcement
pertaining
to food label ingredient statements. CSPI charges that
some
manufacturers are featuring certain ingredients in the
product
names and pictures but provide little or none in the
food;
complaints also include contrast, type size, and other
reada-

FDA is Urged to Speed Trans Fat Labeling

finalize
